Cloughfin Handball Alley, which was officially opened on Sunday 9th May 1971, became the area’s first enclosed ball court although handball had been played in the surrounding districts for many years previously, albeit in more informal settings.

In the years after it opened it hosted many major championship matches but it is not now in use as a handball alley although a thriving 40 x20 club in nearby Beragh carries on the tradition of handball in that area of Tyrone.
