Information provided by P. Wheatley. Alley built in yard of now demolished national school (school was located between alley and road, where car park is now). Alley built only at time that new national school was built (1944). Children raced to alley after school and first 4 to arrive played the first game.

St. Fintan's Hospital, Portlaoise, Co. Laois

The Hospital was first built in 1830. The alley was used a lot in the memory of an employee working there since 1977, and has been added-to often. The top of the Front wall is built of brick on top of previous wall of cutstone. The Back wall was added later and is built of concrete block. Read More......
