St. Fintan's Hospital, Portlaoise, Co. Laois

Photographed by E. Timoney, July 2009. Information provided by P.J. Lawlor.
The Hospital was first built in 1830. The alley was used a lot in the memory of an employee working there since 1977, and has been added-to often. The top of the Front wall is built of brick on top of previous wall of cutstone. The Back wall was added later and is built of concrete block.

Why is this site closed? Is there any hope of re-opening it?
