This School closed in 2007. The School has 1958 written on wall. The 2 alleys possibly built at this time also.

Alley was in place when I went to the Junior school in 57, the date mentioned probably refers to the completion of the Senior School in 58. The new buildings including the alleys possibly were started in 55 or 56. In my time up to the 70's they were in constant use.

Not used much in the 90's. Remember about 1990, one lunch time, a student walked up along the top of the wall between the two handball allies. Crazy thing to do

Just came across this on line. Not really sure what has happened to the Alley since the school closed. In the mid 70's the All Ireland Handball champion used to go to the school and at break time he would take all on and no one could take more than a point or two off him. His name was Colin Patterson or Pattison(cant remember as I was not long in the school). Def worth remembering as he was all ireland champion for a few years as far as I know.

Hi at school in 1970s a guy called Colin Patterson was all Ireland champion for years and used to take on all comers at break and only one in school who could get close to taking a point off him was a guy called Ciaran Bender (I think was his surname)
