Main Wall, Side Walls and Back Wall date from 1950, as does Seating. Roof dates from 1970.

Land was donated vt Mr. Jimmy McEllistrim

Ongoing imporvements take place, and handball is still going strong.

Walls and Floor built from concrete, Roof corrugated iron, Seating is wooden (originally concrete). The alley also has a kitchen and changing rooms.

Main Wall is 30' high
The alley dimension is 60'x28'
Wall thickness 100mm

The alley was erected in 1950 through voluntary labour organised by Fr. Denis Griffin C.C.

2007 All-Ireland ladies senior final. Ashley Prenderville V Maria Daly, both from Ballymacelligott and played in Ballymacelligott. 1975 Al Ireland club champions R. and Murty McEllistrim, Nicholas Kerins, J.P. and Kellly Leen.

I've great memories from the early 70s of going there on dry summer evenings oon my bike.Euge Reidy .Mike Dunne.tom Bastille. pat Sullivan and Martin Reidy are just some of the boys that spent a few hours flaking a ball against the wall of the outside court and losing the odd one in the long grass of mcellistrims field.And then when it got too dark we'd. Sodjurn to moss Lanes wa!! And sit watching the comings and goings at Twomeys Bar as we sucked on nothing stronger than Nash's lemonade and maybe a choc ice if we had the price of it.id say Martin Reidy was the best of us.hed even beat us in his Wellington's.And then home by the light of the moon and stars
